An important responsibility is and always has been to create a safe working environment for our employees - both those in the office as well as our production staff.
We would not be where we are today if it were not for our skilled employees across borders. We work purposefully and diligently to become more responsible and continue to become smarter and more skilled in the concept of sustainability and human rights.
- Close cooperation
Adax has been working in India for more than 24 years. During this time, we have developed a remarkably close relationship with our suppliers, whom we visit regularly. It is of excellent value to us as a brand to have such close supplier relationships which helps us ensure that our products meet our ambitious standards and furthermore, that our values are passed on to our employees abroad. Our own suppliers provide work insurance for the employees and their families, free medical care, transport to the factory and a canteen offering lunch every day.
We support and respect our employees' different religions and support their right to practice their religion at any time.
- Certifications for our foreign work environment
We are committed to fulfilling our ethical, social and environmental responsibilities. Our production in India is certified with SGS, SA8000 and SMETA (SEDEX Members Ethical Trade Audit), which is a recognised international and verifiable certification standard based on social responsibility.
The mission of these audits is to ensure that the employees of our producers have a healthy and safe place to work, good hygiene, good sanitary conditions, clean drinking water, no child labour, the means to support themselves and their families and be free from bribery and corruption. In addition, our suppliers themselves support people in need and charities through a family fund.
Our manufacturer in China, where our nylon and PU products are made, is certified with the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) Audit. BSCI is a system that helps improve working conditions in a company. It focuses on labour standards, compliance with the law, environmental and safety issues, and the prohibition of discrimination, child labour and forced labour among other
things.
- Social initiatives
In 2021, we heard about the NGO Street Children and immediately wanted to be part of their amazing work for street children in Kolkata, India. In December 2021, we collaborated and designed a collection where we donated 10% of the price of each bag sold. We are happy to have collaborated with Street Children and have helped in an area of India we feel a connection to due to our manufacturers.
