Behind the production at Adax

At Adax, we take pride in our close collaboration with our Indian suppliers, and we continue to ensure that our production remains responsible and sustainable. This is a central part of our journey, where quality and social responsibility go hand in hand.

Precision and skilled craftsmanship

We take great pride in the exceptional craftsmanship of our Indian
production team. Their attention to detail, commitment to quality, and functional design make them crucial to Adax. This is especially apparent in our hand-braided bags, which are crafted from high-quality materials and woven by hand – making each bag unique. The process of creating these bags is time-consuming and requires enormous precision and care. It takes a full
working day to produce a single bag, as each woven section is carefully crafted by skilled craftsmen. This extensive production process reflects the unique craft that defines our products, ensuring that each bag is not only functional but also a unique piece of art.

Our production staff in India work exclusively in factories that are
certified with regulated working conditions. These certifications ensure that employees work in healthy and safe environments, with access to good hygiene and clean drinking water. Additionally, they guarantee that no child labor is used, and that employees can support themselves and their families without bribery or corruption. Additionally, employees and their families are covered by work insurance, receive free healthcare, transportation to and from the factory, and are offered daily lunch in the canteen.

Responsible leather production

We exclusively work with leather that is a by-product of the meat
industry, meaning we do not contribute to unnecessary animal slaughter solely for the purpose of fashion. Additionally, our supplier in India is a member of the Leather Working Group (LWG), an organization dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of the leather industry.

To ensure that our production meets the highest social and environmental standards, we work with several international certifications. Our production is certified by a range of standards, including:

Sedex

SA8000 and SMETA

BSCI

These certifications guarantee that our production partners maintainhealthy and safe working conditions, with access to proper hygiene, decent toilet facilities, and clean drinking water. They also ensure that child labor is not used and that workers have the means to support themselves and their families without facing bribery or corruption.

Over the past 24 years, we have built a crucial partnership with our certified suppliers in India, ensuring that our production remains responsible. This is a core aspect of Adax, where quality and social responsibility go hand in hand. For us, it has been essential to work with suppliers and manufacturers who share our values of social responsibility, environmental consideration, and product accountability.
