The People Behind Adax
Adax wouldn’t be where we are today without our talented employees, both
at our base in Denmark – and abroad. That’s why it’s essential for us to ensure
a safe and positive work environment for our team at the head office as well as
for our production staff worldwide. We are committed to taking responsibility
and strengthening our understanding and efforts in sustainability and human
rights. Our focus is to integrate these values even more effectively into
everything we do, continuously developing in this area. That’s why we have
joined forces with organizations that can guide us in the right direction – who
lead the way in certification standards.
Our essential Certified partnership
Adax has been producing in India for over 24 years and has built a close
relationship with our suppliers, whom we visit regularly. To ensure we meet our
ethical, social, and environmental responsibilities, we work exclusively with
factories that are certified for regulated working conditions.
Our production in India is certified by SGS, SA8000, and SMETA (Sedex
Members Ethical Trade Audit), internationally recognized and verifiable
certification standards based on social responsibility. These certifications
guarantee that employees at our production sites work under healthy and safe
conditions, with access to proper hygiene, decent toilet facilities, and clean
drinking water. Additionally, they ensure that child labor is not used and that
workers are able to support themselves and their families without the influence
of bribery or corruption.
Our suppliers in India actively contribute to the local community by
supporting charitable organizations and helping people in need through their
own family foundation. They also provide their employees and their families
with work insurance, free healthcare, transportation to and from the factory,
and daily lunch in the canteen. Throughout all levels of the Adax business
model, we respect our employees' different religions and support their right to
freely practice their faith.
Our supplier in China, where our nylon products are made, is certified
with the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) Audit. This system helps
improve working conditions and ensures a focus on labor standards, legal
compliance, environmental and safety issues, as well as prohibiting
discrimination, child labor, and forced labor.
For us as a brand, maintaining a close relationship with our suppliers
and manufacturers is crucial. It not only ensures that the products we make
meet our high standards but also that our values are communicated and upheld by
our employees abroad.
Social Initiatives
In 2021, we became aware of the Danish NGO "Gadens Børn" (Children
Of The Street), who works to help street children in Kolkata, India, build a
future away from the streets. We wanted to be part of their incredible work, so
in December 2021, we formed a partnership. Together, we designed a collection
where 10% of the price from each sold bag was donated to the organization. We
are proud to have contributed to their efforts and to have made a difference in
an area we feel a special connection to through our producers in India
